The Kenyan brothers of the Kibos team on Wednesday off-loaded their cars at Silver Spring Hotels ready for action the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda rally that starts tomorrow with Scrutineering at Shell Bugolobi.

The team mechanics said that their drivers were ready for the fight and are here to win.
Efforts to get the drivers for comments were futile as their navigators and drivers were in reccing in Kayunga.

Over 56 Crews Registered

A record fifty-Six drivers made entry to the continent’s most prestigious event forcing Clerk of the Course (COC) Cedric Buzabo to apply for a waiver on the required fourty number limit.

Meanwhile the Rwandan crew of Yoto Fabricen navigated by Remera Regis blew their engine while testing their car and will not be able to compete leaving the number of foreign crews to nine and local crews to 47.

Scrutineering for Thursday

The three-day event starts today with car scrutineering at Shell Bugolobi before action starting with a Super Special stage in Busiika Luwero tomorrow and end on Saturday with competitors battling it out in the remaining 10 competitive sections in Kayunga district.
The event will cover a distance of 485km of which 208.8kms are competitive and 276.5kms are Liason(transport).
Shell V-Power, Fire and Safety Appliance, Hima Cement, ICEA Insurance Group, Lato Milk and Metha Group have supported this year’s event.
