Ahmed Huwel is widely regarded as one of Tanzania’s fastest and most accomplished rally drivers. Hailing from Iringa, he has built a strong reputation both in motorsport and in business, balancing a successful entrepreneurial career with a long-standing passion for rallying.

Huwel has been active in rallying since the mid-2000s, with early participation in the African Rally Championship between 2004 and 2007. During this period, he quickly gained recognition for his speeds and competitiveness, establishing himself among Tanzania’s top rally drivers before taking a temporary break from the sport due to personal commitments.

After the  break Huwel made a determined return around 2016. Since then, he has steadily rebuilt his presence in the sport, showing improved consistency, stronger technical understanding, and a more strategic approach to rallying.

Over the years, Huwel has competed in a range of competitive machinery, reflecting his growth and ambition within the sport. His rally career has seen him drive:
