FIA Approves Tanzania’s Return to ARC Calendar for 2025
The FIA has officially approved Tanzania’s return to the African Rally Championship (ARC) calendar for the 2025 season. The revised schedule follows Tanzania’s confirmation of hosting a round of the championship, prompting changes to the calendar.
The 2025 ARC season is set to kick off with the iconic Kenya Safari Rally, scheduled for March 20–23. Key updates in the new calendar include a date shift for the Rwanda ARC round, which will now take place on July 4–6. Meanwhile, Uganda’s flagship event, the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, remains scheduled for May 9–11, 2025.

Ugandan rally crews are already gearing up for the championship, with reigning ARC2 champions Yasin Nasser/Ali Katumba and Michael Mukula Jr./Sirajih Kyambade among the teams preparing for the season. The latest amendments to the regional sporting regulations, particularly Article 12.3, have created more opportunities for participation, leading to increased interest from Ugandan competitors.
The Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally was widely regarded as one of the best-organized events in 2024, and the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) has already begun preparations to further enhance the quality and safety of the 2025 edition.
“We don’t want any sections canceled due to safety-related issues like in the last event,” said FMU President Hon. Akena, emphasizing the federation’s commitment to improved safety measures.
With early preparations underway and heightened interest in the championship, the 2025 ARC season is set to be highly competitive and thrilling for both fans and participants.
