Rally Fans cautioned to Observe Safety
Hima Cement Limited has this afternoon juiced up the 2017 VPower Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally with a USH. 70m Boost, part of which is aimed at running a Safety Awareness campaign ahead of the Event
The Organisers of the Shell V-Power Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally have urged Rally fans to observe Safety in the two day rally.
The rally due on Thursday to Saturday in Busiika Luwero district and Kayunga district has attracted a record 57 drivers that will be competing.
FMU president Dusman Okee and Hima Cement sponsored driver Ambrose Byona made the appeal at a press briefing at Panamera bar and lounge where Hima cement committed sh. 70m to this year’s Pearl Rally edition.
Stay away from the roads.
“This is the battle for pride and we shall be out to keep the podium Ugandan as our foreign colleagues will also be targeting the same. So please stay away from the roads and you leave us to entertain you,” Byona appealed to fans.
“The routes are nice and we are going to be running at speeds of 180-200km per hour, so fans please get off the roads,” Byona added.
Hima cement marketing and pricing manager Charles Mugasa promised the company’s continued support as long as they observe safety.
Drivers will battle it out in the competitive stages including Busiika, Bwakedde, Lwasa, Kitwe, Sheikha Metha and Kitimbwa which covers a distance of 248kms and 273km transport section.
The event is co-sponsored by Shell V-Power, Fire and Safety Appliance, ICEA Insurance Group, Lato Milk, World Wide Movers and Hima Cement.
