The Mkwawa Rally of Tanzania will provide the battleground for this decisive showdown. Covering a total of 326.44 kilometers, the rally will be divided into nine competitive stages 181.59 kilometers of pure rally action and 144.85 kilometers of liaison. The highlight is the 29.15 km Serengeti stage, the longest test of endurance and speed, to be repeated three times. In contrast, the shortest, the 11.91 km Kilimanjaro stage, will also feature three times, ensuring no shortage of drama.

The event gets underway today with the 4.70 km Mkwawa qualifying stage at 16:06, setting the tone and the start order. Saturday promises the ultimate endurance test with six stages lined up the longest and most demanding day of action. The final curtain will fall on Sunday with three concluding stages that will decide the fate of the championship.

All eyes are locked firmly on the two title-contending crews: Uganda’s pride, Nasser and Katumba, carrying the hopes of Kampala and beyond, and Kenya’s rising force, Vohra and Sturrock, determined to write their names in African rallying history. Yet, with the unpredictability of motorsport, a few lurking party spoilers may have their own scripts to play.

It is, quite simply, all systems go. By the end of this weekend, Africa will know its rally king and history will be made in the dust of Tanzania.
