If rallying ever needed border control, Sadat Negomba would already be in charge. By weekday he is an immigration officer, and by weekend he becomes the officer in charge of denying rivals entry to the podium. Many drivers arrive with ambition, but Sadat simply stamps REJECTED and speeds away.
The proud son of Busoga is one of the calmest drivers in the paddock. He never makes noise, never argues, and rarely panics. He simply straps in, starts the engine, and begins processing competitors one checkpoint at a time. While others are discussing fuel strategy, Sadat is asking, “Purpose of your visit to the podium?”

Negomba is no newcomer to motorsport. After years in the demanding 2WD class, he has become one of the most respected names in the category. He is the kind of driver who approaches a rally stage the same way he approaches immigration duty serious face, sharp focus, and no unnecessary delays.
His career began with humble machinery, using a Toyota Corolla Levin before later campaigning the Toyota FX, Toyota RunX, Toyota Vitz and other Toyota machines. He has driven so many Toyotas that some mechanics greet him like family. If Toyota Uganda starts a loyalty scheme, Sadat deserves lifetime platinum membership.
He began with humble machinery, but through consistency and determination rose into one of the strongest names in the category. His big breakthrough came in 2019 when he secured his maiden 2WD victory at the Fort Portal Rally. Rivals arrived hoping to celebrate, only to hear: “Sorry sir, entry denied.”
That same season, he impressed further by finishing second in the 2WD class at the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally, proving he could perform on the biggest stages. Since then, he has remained a driver nobody takes lightly. If you see Sadat quietly smiling at service park, know that someone’s championship papers are about to be delayed.
Over the years, he has partnered with several co-drivers including Hamza Lwanga, Zubedah Abdallah and now Namara Prosperous. The current pairing looks well organized Namara handles the pace notes while Sadat handles deporting competitors backwards through the leaderboard.
