Based in Kampala, he is also a mechanical and automobile engineer, a skill that helps him understand and prepare his rally cars well. Entry Into Motorsport

Walter Kibande started his motorsport journey through street racing and drifting before moving into organized competition. He first competed in autocross events, where he gained valuable experience in car control and speed. His strong performances later pushed him into rallying, where he joined the Clubman Rally Championship (CRC). Walter adapted quickly to rally stages and became one of the top drivers in the category, eventually winning the 2025 CRC title. He moved from street corners to rally corners so fast that some people are still checking mirrors.

The Shell Vpower Pearl Of Africa Rally Expectations

This will be Walter’s second appearance at the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally. Despite setbacks during last year’s outing, the 2026 CRC champion returns looking better prepared, more experienced, and ready for battle. With lessons learned from his previous attempt, Walter and his crew will be aiming to fight for top honours in the highly competitive Division 2 class. If the car behaves and the roads cooperate, rivals may have a long weekend chasing Subaru dust.
